A listener called claiming to have heard on another radio station that Charlie Musselwhite had died, and that the host claimed that the information was from a suburban Boston newspaper. I searched all relevant sites on the web and could not find any evidence that Musselwhite had died. I announced that I had received this report, but that I could not confirm its authenticity. Another listener called to tell me he had contacted Musselwhite's office and found that the report was thankfully not true, Musselwhite is alive and well, and I was glad to announce that later in the show. It was still a good excuse to play some of his music.
