Another superb show...Lost & Found at its best! Entertaining and informative, as your shows always are.
You are so right what you said about "Mr. Dieingly Sad". It's always been a special one to me, too.
Very interesting to hear "Play Girl" by Thee Prophets in stereo. Almost sounds like a whole different song from my old original mono 45. By the way, I have also some of their later 45's and on some the lead singer Alan Campbell is given special billing on the labels (although unfortunately nothing they did later, in my opinion, was as good as "Play Girl".)
Thanks also for only mentioning but not playing anything by Cher. I used to be able to take or leave her stuff, but after she perpetrated such horrible trash as "Half Breed" I'm still not sure I've forgiven her!
One you didn't mention: my uncle Bill Finegan, with his bandleader partner Eddie Sauter recorded a 45 for Kapp (#256) in 1959. They had recently disbanded their regular band, The Sauter-Finegan Orchestra, with whom they made many popular records for RCA, and for their one Kapp single they used the name The Sauter-Finegan Doodletown Fifers. Bill was an amazing musician. He recently passed away, on June 4, 2008 at age 91.

Very cool record by Stephen Monahan ("City Of Windows") too. I hadn't heard that one, so I googled the name and discovered he was a buddy of the great Del Shannon!
