The menu for today's psychedelic lunch, with your host, Larry Miller

At last: The End of the Summer of Love... This special set celebrating the death of Hippie has been presented by Larry the Beatnik (out to make it rich). Here now, some of the folks who played at the final Summer of Love concert on Saturday September 1st in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco.

Taj Mahal: “She Took the Katy and Left Me a Mule to Ride” (live)
Chambers Brothers: “In the Midnight Hour”
Canned Heat: “Back Out On the Road/ On the Road Again medley” (Live in Europe)

Did I mention that I was at the original Human Be-in in January 1967 in Golden Gate Park?

Cold Blood w. Lydia Pense: “I Wish I Knew How It Feels To Be Free”
New Riders of the Purple Sage: “Glendale Train” (Live)
The Charlatans: “Jack o’ Diamonds” (From the rarities cd “The Amazing Charlatans”)

That’s all folks: the 'Summer of Love' is officially over. Now, go on about your business...

Spooky Tooth: “Waiting for the Wind” (request)
The Paupers: “It’s Your Mind” (1st album: Magic People)

Some Brits:

Jethro Tull: “Inside” (Benefit album)
The Who: “Maryanne With the Shaky Hand” (... Sell Out)
Procol Harum: “The Devil Came From Kansas”
The Rolling Stones: “She’s a Rainbow” ( I guessed wrong- the strings were arranged by John Paul Jones, not Paul Buckmaster...)

Some stuff chosen at random from various 60’s compilations of alternative rock:

Spirit: “Darkeyed Woman”
Family: “Burlesque”
Fever Tree: “San Francisco Girls”
Love: “Your Mind and We Belong Together”

Chris Farlowe:” Out of Time” (The Stones’ song.)
Ultimate Spinach: “Ego Trip”
Pearls Before Swine: “Uncle John”
Chocolate Watch Band: “Are You Gonna Be There (At the Love-in)?”
Kaleidoscope: “Keep Your Mind Open”
The Misunderstood: “Children of the Sun”

See you in two weeks- stay cool!
And remember: if you remember the 60’s, you weren’t doing it right....
